Jayanth brings over Eighteen years of experience in Technology, Product Marketing, Research and Strategy Consulting in the Telecom, Internet and Emerging Deep Technologies (AI/ML, Blockchain & IoT) domains. He is an advisor to the world’s leading technology firms, young & fast growing startups and the investor community, and has held various roles with Telecom Carriers, Device Manufacturers and Management Consulting firms in the past.

Currently, as a Partner with Convergence Catalyst, Jayanth leverages his hands-on experience and domain expertise to advise various companies to align themselves with the ever-changing technology and market trends, and evolve as leaders in the Digital Convergence space. Mr Clark has been in the civil aviation business for his whole professional career, having joined British Caledonian in 1972.

In 1975, he moved to Gulf Air in Bahrain and subsequently in 1985 to Dubai where he became a member of the founding team of Emirates as Head of Airline Planning.

In 2003, he became President of Emirates Airline. Until the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world in early 2020, Emirates was serving over 150 destinations in 85 countries with a fleet of 270 wide-bodied aircraft comprising the iconic Airbus A380s, and advanced Boeing 777s.

Between April 1998 and March 2008, Mr Clark was also the Managing Director of Sri Lankan Airlines, the latter position resulted from Emirates’ acquisition in April 1998 of a major stake in the airline with full management control.

Mr Clark is Chairman of the Emirates Airline Foundation, which he was instrumental in founding. The Foundation strives to improve the welfare of disadvantaged children of the world.

Vijay’s 30 years’ experience in international relations, aviation, tourism and public affairs together with his extensive travels and living in Mauritius, UK, UAE and Singapore have consolidated his ability and reputation for international consensus building, Strategic Public Affairs, Ethics and Good Governance. Vijay is committed to ensuring that organisations are purpose-driven and adhere to the highest standards for integrity, transparency, equity, inclusivity and sustainability.

Vijay was the Managing Director of Air Mauritius, Special Adviser (International Civil Aviation) and Member of the Public/Private Consultative Group in the Prime Minister’s Office of Mauritius, the Executive Chairman of Airports of Mauritius, the Vice President International Affairs of the Etihad Aviation Group and Senior Adviser, International Civil Aviation Affairs, UAE Mission to ICAO.

He was also Chairman of the 4th ICAO Worldwide Air Transport Conference, the ICAO Special Group on the Warsaw Convention Governing International Air Transport, the Air Transport Committee of the African Civil Aviation Commission, IATA’s Industry Affairs Committee, IATA’s Legal Advisory Council and IATA’s Task Force on International Aviation Issues. Vijay was a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Mobility, the World Travel & Tourism Council’s Advisors Circle, the World Routes Advisory Panel, the Board of Directors of US Travel Association and the Board of Governors of the International Aviation Club of Washington, DC.

He extended the legacy of hierarchy and established multiple industrial manufacturing units of engineering and textile in Pakistan. His current vision is based on accumulated exposure of travelling as an entrepreneur across entire world continents, visiting 70 + states and operating with royal dynasties, parliamentarians, diplomats, central banks leadership, leading entrepreneurs, industrialists, military generals and academicians.

Family Industrial Background

He seeks inspiration from the consequence of subcontinent partition into India and Pakistan in 1947, which forced his grandparents to migrate from India to settle at Karachi, Pakistan. The entrepreneurial resilience enabled his family to establish the first automobile industry in Pakistan with the name of Nisaco Motor Parts, specializing in engine reconditioning through US and Italian modern technology and with the capacity to grind the largest marine ships crankshafts. Mobin joined the legacy of entrepreneurship in 1977 after graduating as an engineer to work with his teacher – his father.

Own Industrial Background

He started from basic shop floor operations and gradually moved into building technology-led businesses specializing in low-cost design, special-purpose machines, jigs, fixtures and manufacturing-transfer lines. He established the first indigenous SME manufacturing facility spread across 300,000 sq ft area to produce camshafts, engine valves, and gaskets and excelled towards producing 35 percent of tractor components for Fiat assembly lines. He is also the pioneer in introducing the first ever Rapier Shuttleless looms in Pakistan.

He has published several reports on self-sustaining micro cities, industrial parks and low-cost housing as vehicles and growth enablers for trade, entrepreneurship and jobs creation in marginalized communities which are severely affected by poverty and regularly invited as speakers to share insights on social development. As a business leader, he understands that accomplishments are a result of getting people to work as a team. He has dedicated his life to helping SMEs and advising African and Asian developing countries governments on job creation and trade strategy to alleviate poverty.

He now looks forward to initiating global sustainable projects aimed at inclusivity and empowering marginalized communities with skills and enabling them with the power of SMEs to create jobs and end poverty. He wants to realize these goals by leading and promoting the commonwealth entrepreneurial club connecting 5K+ highly successful entrepreneurs from across 54 commonwealth nations to open up new markets, facilitate trade, enhance regional connectivity and exclusively invest in setting up industrial parks, smart cities, low cost housing and vocational skills centers to develop requisite human capital all aimed at poverty alleviation on a mutually rewarding, business friendly and commercially viable projects.

Mark Beer OBE is a British lawyer who is co-Founder of Seven Pillars Law, chairman of The Metis Institute and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Global Legal Action Network and was previously President of the International Association for Court Administration.

Beer is a member of the Commercial Dispute Resolution Taskforce, part of the UK Government’s ‘LawTech Delivery Panel’; senior advisor to VirtuZone; senior advisor to Emissary Holdings; advisor to the Board of Resolve Disputes Online; a member of The Innovation Working Group of the Task Force on Justice; a Professional Associate with Outer Temple Chambers; a lawyer with Keystone Law and a member of the International Council of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Previously he was Chief Executive of the Dubai International Financial Centre’s Dispute Resolution Authority; Registrar General and a Small Claims Tribunal judge of the DIFC Courts; and Registrar to the Dubai World Tribunal.

Beer was identified as one of the 100 Inspiring Leaders in the Middle East and has been described as having an ′incredibly sharp mind, a brilliant reputation and a proven talent for securing government support behind disruptive planning′ and was involved in a number of transformative projects in Dubai in the legal and justice sectors, having spoken about the future of law and justice and been instrumental in the establishment of the Courts of the Future Forum.

Beer is also a Visiting Fellow of the University of Oxford, a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network for the Justice sector and a legal commentator on China’s One Belt One Road Initiative.

David Heymann

Hatter undertook the task of successfully planning and implementing Hotel ICON’s commercial and operational strategies. Hatter led his team creating and David Heymann is a medical epidemiologist and Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at LSHTM.

From 1989 to 2009 he held various leadership positions in infectious diseases at WHO, and in 2003 headed the WHO global response to SARS in his role as executive director of communicable diseases.

In 1976, after spending two years working in India on smallpox eradication, Heymann was a member of the CDC (Atlanta) team to investigate the first Ebola outbreak in DRC and stayed on in sub-Saharan Africa for 13 years in various field research positions on Ebola, monkeypox, Lassa Fever, malaria and other tropical diseases.

Heymann has published over 250 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, is editor of the Control of Communicable Diseases Manual, and is an elected member of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences and the US National Academy of Medicine. In 2009 he was named an Honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to global health.

About the Summit

Invest, Finance & Rebuild the Travel Tourism industry 9 – 11 November 2020

ITIC in partnership with WTM come up together to host a Virtual Tourism Investment Summit that will contribute to accelerate the recovery of travel and tourism businesses and restore travellers’ confidence after the COVID-19 pandemic. The travel and tourism industry more specifically the hotels and airlines sectors are going through unprecedented and challenging times caused by the pandemic on a scale not faced before. ITIC and WTM are therefore committed to support the industry by bringing together global leading voices and luminaries across different segments, namely: health experts, hotels, airlines, Ministers, policy makers, investors, private equity specialists and investment bankers under the one roof.
