Dr Karl Moootoosamy has an outstanding international track record where culture,pedagogy,tourism,sports and diplomacy blends together.
He holds a doctorate in humanities with distinction from the Sorbonne and was a visiting professor in arts and literature.
As chief Executive to the Office of the President of the Francophone movement,he was responsible for policy and strategy and led several international cooperation missions to Benin,Senegal,Burkina Faso,Ivory Coast,Cambodia,Vietnam,Tunisia and Morocco.He is also a Honorary Citizen of the town of Wasquehal in France.
Inspired by rich experiences drawn from life and the necessity to foster closer links amongst people,he took in hand,in 1998,the destiny of the tourism industry in Mauritius as Director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority,following a selection exercise conducted by PriceWaterHouse,a position he held until 2015.
A principled and determined man, Dr Karl Mootoosamy has had a very precise vision of Mauritius and the way he wanted to promote the country.Convinced that the destiny of the island lies in a top-quality tourism industry, he has led promotion missions in more than 50 countries around the globe.He played a leading role in the up Vanilla Island organisation as well as Costa Croisiere venue in Indian Ocean.He sucessfully conducted the diversificated of markets leading the way to China CIS countrys Middle East Africa and Brazil.
