The role and structure
The ITIC Advisory Council, under the leadership of Dr. Taleb Rifai, former Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, comprises esteemed individuals in the fields of tourism and finance from across the globe. Functioning as a Think Tank, the council’s primary objective is to deliberate on the conference agenda, charting a strategic course for the industry’s future. This involves considering various global realities, including but not limited to stimulating investment in the sector, economic instabilities, geopolitical tensions, natural disasters, climate change, terrorism, and the imperative of ensuring the safety and security of tourists. Additionally, the council will assess specialized interventions proposed by industry experts to ensure that the discussions maintain a high standard and are pertinent to an audience of exceptional calibre.
ITIC is implementing strategic initiatives to further its objectives. These initiatives have been carefully crafted to attract foreign direct investment for various projects, advocate for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles with a focus on resilience and sustainability, empower female entrepreneurs, and develop initiatives and strategies within the Commonwealth.
